Epoxy Flooring in Essex

Essex is our home county, so most Essex projects are surveyed and installed by teams working from base rather than travelling and staying over. In practice that means shorter lead times, easier phasing across several visits, and the ability to come back quickly for snagging, extensions or additional bays.

The work splits fairly evenly between three types of site. Distribution and storage units along the A12, A13 and M11 corridors typically take epoxy high build at 0.5–1 mm, which seals dusting concrete and gives a hard, chemical-resistant, easily swept surface at a sensible m² rate. Engineering and manufacturing units generally need epoxy self-levelling at 2–4 mm, which flows out over a ground substrate to give a seamless floor that takes point loads, dropped tooling and pallet impact. Older units around the estuary towns often need a damp-proof membrane first, because the slabs pre-date reliable DPM detailing.

Where an epoxy is not the right answer we will say so. Epoxy is not the system for steam cleaning, thermal shock or standing hot water — those go to polyurethane HF screed — and it will not cure reliably in an unheated unit in midwinter, where an MMA system is the sensible substitution.

Every quotation states the system, the number of coats, the dry film thickness, the preparation method and the return-to-service times for foot and vehicle traffic, so you can plan the shutdown properly.
